Summary

On 31 August 1999 two crew on board the potter/creeler Donna M were fishing for crabs and lobsters off the island of Sanday in Orkney, Scotland. When they did not return when expected, a search was carried out. The next day one body was discovered and the other crew member was missing, presumed dead. The vessel was subsequently located on the seabed. It had taken on board a large quantity of floodwater, which caused it to capsize and sink.

Neither crew were wearing lifejackets at the time.
